Somerset Health's History

Somerset Health is owned and operated by Tina Robson, a senior occupational therapist. In 2026, senior physiotherapist, Tom Robson, joined the team!

Tina and Tom are proud to provide place-based occupational therapy and physiotherapy services in their home community of Carnarvon, supporting people across the Gascoyne and Mid-West regions. Their goal is to deliver care that is local, accessible, and tailored to the needs of the communities they know and love.

Tina and Tom's Story

Tina and Tom believe everyone’s story is unique. They understand that the right fit between client and therapist is essential to building trust.

Somerset Health’s occupational therapist, Tina, is originally from Southeast Queensland. Born in Brisbane, she moved to the country during her teenage years and quickly fell in love with rural life, connecting deeply with the strength and spirit of community. Somerset Health’s physiotherapist, Tom, is originally from Sydney, New South Wales. Driven by a passion for healthcare in less-resourced areas, he moved to Newcastle after university and travelled across Australia, gaining experience in a variety of locations as a physiotherapist.

Tina and Tom met while working at the same private practice in Darwin. Together, they moved to Alice Springs and continued travelling across Australia until they arrived in the Gascoyne region in 2023. Seeking a place that combined their shared love of desert and sea, they first worked at Quobba Station, a very remote sheep and goat station about an hour from Carnarvon. In 2024, they moved into Carnarvon and have been enjoying life in the town ever since.

Tina and Tom believe that ‘home’ isn’t always a physical place, it’s where community, culture, and connections feel strongest. They also recognise that ‘family’ can include anyone who supports you and helps shape your identity.

Outside of work, Tina and Tom enjoy travelling, camping, and fishing, as well as exploring creative pursuits such as sewing, crafts, and woodworking.
