Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy, or OT, is a client-centred, holistic health service. OT focuses on supporting individuals to achieve improved independence, health, and wellbeing in necessary and meaningful everyday activities.

Tina provides rural generalist occupational therapy services, which means sheis open to providing services to anyone of any age, background, or health conditions. Requested services may include:

  • Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA), including evaluation of care needs
  • Accommodation needs assessment: Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short-Term Accommodation (STA), or Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
  • Home Modifications: minor or major
  • Assistive Technology (AT) or other equipment: assessment, prescription and set-up
  • Therapeutic program development
    • Personal care skills
    • Social skills
    • Fine motor skills
    • Life skills
    • School or work participation
  • Telehealth: Zoom, Microsoft teams, facetime, phone, email or any other telehealth contact platform
Professional Mentorship

Tina welcomes any opportunity to provide mentorship to occupational therapy new graduates or other professionals who wish to receive support in working in a regional, rural and remote area of practice. This service may be available face to face in Carnarvon, WA, or via teleconference.

Locations

Tina prides herself on being a flexible service, offering location-based therapy where possible. Tina believes that by treating client in their natural environment, clients and their supports are likely to feel more comfortable, allowing a stronger relationship to be formed with their therapist to enable best healthcare outcomes. Services may occur at any location of the client’s choice, including:

  • home
  • a day program facility
  • local park
  • community
  • school
  • work
